Come to the library, meet your neighbors!

People may come to the library looking for a book, or for information, but they find each other there! Librarians know that new moms connect at story times; elderly people attend events and find that they can make new friends; teenagers meet up after school to do homework; and readers discuss books near the new book shelves, or current events in the periodical area. In the library, community building connections are happening all the time!

A Weekend Double Header!

On Saturday, October 11 at 1 PM, stop by the library to learn how to write your own personal memoir to leave as a wonderful legacy to your children, grandchildren or other loved ones. Everyone has a story to tell, and Lou Alexander, a dynamic teacher and author, will show you how to tell yours!

Then on Sunday, October 12 at 2 PM, Dr. Michael Norris, a former Metropolitan Museum educator, offers "Knight Life: Armchair Art Tour." See how medieval knights practiced for war and enjoyed the pleasures of peace through a lecture, and the viewing of masterpieces of the Morgan Library & Museum, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, and The Cloisters.
