Clara Barton: Angel of the Battlefield

A first-person living history presentation by the American Historical Theatre takes place this Sunday, October 26 at 2 PM at the library. During the Civil War, Barton took supplies to wounded soldiers at the front, and earned the title “Angel of the Battlefield.” She was a passionate supporter of the international Red Cross, and established the first chapter of the American Red Cross. Clara’s example of indomitable strength, dogged determination and boundless good will continues to inspire all Americans. The program is free, and open to the public. It is funded by the Horizons Speakers Bureau of the New Jersey Council for the Humanities, a state partner of the National Endowment for the Humanities.
