Music Concert by Ian Smit and Rick Savage

Come hear Ian Smit (on Guitar) and Rick Savage (on Trumpet) perform at the Jefferson Library. Ian and Rick will also discuss the music process and encourage audience questions. Savage and Smit have been playing together for the last several years in Warwick, NY with the Beyond Jazz Ensemble performing live improvisational works, as well as Action Painting improvs inspired by in the moment, back and forth conversations between musicians and painters. Educated at world renowned music school Indiana University, composer / producer / engineer, videographer Rick Savage has lived and worked in & around New York City and been a part of the recording industry for the past 30 years. He continues to be in demand as a performing & recording trumpet player, making guest solo appearances on the CD projects of many NY area artists. Savage has played with an impressive list too many to name here, but a small sampling include: Tania Maria, Gerry Mulligan, The Temptations, Peggy Lee, Andy Williams (loved his TV show growing up! -smit), Blood Sweat & Tears, Mel Lewis, Mel Torme, The Jackson Five, Henry Mancini, Burt Bacharach, among many others.
