We Honor America

Celebrate each branch of our Armed Forces and the heroic Americans lost serving our country, at this lecture with slides and music, presented by Professor James Kane. This is a special way to recognize, with dignity, our Memorial Day! This program is free, and open to the public. (Tuesday, May 23 at 7 PM)

Have a Happy Mother's Day

The library will be closed this Sunday, May 14, for Mother's Day. Enjoy a lovely day, and please enjoy the following poem by Edna St. Vincent Millay, written in 1949 as an elegy to her mother:

The courage that my mother had

The courage that my mother had
Went with her, and is with her still:
Rock from New England quarried;
Now granite in a granite hill.

The golden brooch my mother wore
She left behind for me to wear;
I have no thing I treasure more:
Yet, it is something I could spare.
