Art Talk by Mallory Martillaro The Peale family was one of America’s most influential artistic and intellectual family dynasties in early American History. This lecture examines the characters of this eccentric, invaluable, and innovative family and highlights their many contributions to American culture. From Charles Wilson Peale’s important role as a portrait painter of the American Revolution and founder of one of America’s first museums, to his many children and grandchildren’s contributions in both the arts and sciences, this program will provide a great introduction to a very rich part of American History.

Chair Yoga with Kristine

Embrace strength, flexibility, and serenity as we adapt poses to be performed using a chair to support us seated and standing, making it ideal for those with limited mobility. This practice allows you to experience the numerous physical and mental benefits of yoga without the worry of getting down on the floor or maintaining balance in traditional poses. All levels of mobility and flexibility welcome!
 
Cookbook Book Club: Potatoes

Do you love to cook, share, and try new recipes? Our Cookbook Book Club will explore different themes each month and allow you to connect with fellow cooks and bakers to discover new tips and recipes. Each month we will have a different theme, and will have a list of suggested cookbooks for you to check out based on that month’s theme. The Cookbook Book Club will meet on alternating Sunday afternoons and Wednesday evenings. How to participate: 1- Register on our events page, or by calling 973-208-6244 2- Cookbooks for each theme will be available the month prior to the book club 3- Create a dish by preparing the regular recipe size from your cookbook 4- You must create a dish in order to participate 5- Please bring your dish ready to serve - we cannot reheat or warm foods in the library 6- Please bring any serving utensils needed for your dish Come, share, eat, and discuss Bring a copy of your recipe to share Don’t forget to bring a container to take home leftovers The library will provide plates, napkins, utensils, and water The library is not responsible for dishes that may conflict with an individual’s food allergies. 2026 Themes: March 29th - Potatoes April 26th - Bread May 31st - Eggs June 28th - Pies July 26th - Summer Produce (use what's in season) August 30th - Sandwiches September 27th - Retro 1950s recipe October 25th - Pasta November 22nd - America's Test Kitchen recipe December 13th - Cookie Exchange!
