The Life and Times of the Continental Soldier by John Dwyer

Description This program features the uniform, weapons,
tools, and gear used and carried by the
soldiers of the American Army in the
Revolutionary War. John Dwyer will talk about
the life and experiences of a soldier in NJ in
1780.

John Dwyer portrays a soldier serving in the Continental Army which was camped in New Jersey in the Winter of 1780. He wears the uniform and
equipment carried by Revolutionary War
soldiers and tells stories about his life, his pay, his food, and clothing and the campaigns he
has participated in since 1777. He shows what
he is carrying and explains his gear, weapons,
and belongings in detail as he passes it around
the audience to handle.

John is a retired United States Army Colonel with more than 37 years of service. He is a Jersey
native and currently makes his home in Clinton Township, NJ.
